At The Dance Corner the health and safety of students is our number one priority. All staff undergo a criminal background check and must complete 5 or more hours of training in safety and mental and physical wellness for students with Youth Protection Advocates in Dance. The Dance Corner is the first dance studio on the shoreline to be YPAD certified. As part of our commitment to health and safety all of our staff is also First Aid, CPR and AED certified.
The Dance Corner is home to industry professionals who are ready to share their knowledge with your dancer. Our talented instructors are committed to providing a welcoming, creative space for dancers of all levels. We take pride in our incredible instructors and are excited to teach every dance student.
Our dance instructors are lifelong learners who continue to educate themselves through certification programs, teacher-training schools, conferences, and other learning opportunities. It is our objective to inspire a passion for the art of dance in every child who passes through our doors. In the process, our dance instructors strive to set the right example and help your child create memories that will last a lifetime.
Our Faculty
Elizabeth McCabe is the owner and director of The Dance Corner, after many dedicated years dancing and teaching at the studio. Elizabeth took classes at TDC for 14 years, competing with their jazz, tap, lyrical, and production groups for seven years. She has also been an Irish step dancer since she was 7 years old and traveled to Ireland with the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance in 2011 as a member of their elite group, the Emerald Dancers. Throughout college, Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart University’s Dance Company as well as Claddagh Dancers, and competed at nearby intercollegiate competitions. Elizabeth is currently a teacher for the Mulkerin School of Irish dance.
Elizabeth received her bachelors in Social Work and a minor in dance from Sacred Heart University in 2017. Elizabeth also earned her Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in 2018, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Elizabeth loves working with children in the social work field as well as in the dance studio. The Dance Corner has been a second home to Elizabeth for many years and she is grateful that she gets to share her love for dance with all of her students! Aside from working and teaching dance, Elizabeth loves going to the beach, exploring new places, and spending time with her family!
