Carrie Smith has been teaching dance throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts for over 25 years and is a qualified member of Dance Educators of America. Originally from Barnstable, MA, Carrie began her dance training at the Cape Cod Conservatory. She graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA and earned her B.A. in dance performance and choreography from Connecticut College, where she studied with such notable teachers as Peggy Lyman, Sara Rudner, Jaclyn Villamil, David Dorfman, and Dan Waggoner. Carrie spent her college semester abroad studying modern dance and Caribbean folk dance at the School of the National Dance Theatre of Jamaica. She has danced with the National Youth Ballet and performed in world premiere choreography by Doug Nielsen and at the American College Dance Festival. When she’s not at the studio Miss Carrie loves spending time with her dogs Tippy and Hugo and her beloved Glen. Miss Carrie looks forward to sharing her love of dance with the students of The Dance Corner for many years to come.
