Catherine Florentine began dancing at The Dance Corner when she was two years old. Catherine was a Dance Corner dancer for 15 years and competed with their jazz, tap, lyrical, and production companies. Catherine also competed with the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance at many regional feis and went to Ireland as an Emerald Dancer in 2011. Currently, Catherine is studying modern and ballet at Connecticut College in New London, CT with noteworthy dancers and choreographers Heidi Henderson, David Dorfman, Shawn Hove, and Shani Collins-Achille.
Previously, Catherine taught tumbling/acrobatics, ballet, and lyrical at Broadway Kids and Company Performing Arts Studio. Additionally, she has received tumbling certification from Tumbling Effect.
Catherine is also a Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology major at Conn and plans on attending Dental School to become an orthodontist. Outside of The Dance Corner, Catherine loves studying chemistry, working in a research lab at Conn, and always learning new dance skills! Catherine couldn’t be more excited to be teaching at The Dance Corner while sharing her love and passion for dance!
