Brooke Cotter has been dancing for 17 years and has trained extensively in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-hop, Broadway jazz, Pointe, and Modern. She began her dance training at 3 years old and competed in numerous competitions throughout New England.
Brooke became a member of The Dance Corner Company where she competed with their Tap, Jazz and Lyrical companies. She started choreographing her Tap solos at the age of 13 and earned many Titles and Awards for performances, such as “Outstanding Choreography & Technique”. She has attended many master class workshops to further her skills at the Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and DanceMasters with professionals such as Jason Samuels Smith, Dianne Walker (Lady Di), Ayodele Casel, David Dorfman, Allysen Hooks, and Max Pollak. As well as, Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet Dance Intensive. Brooke was featured as a lead Tap dancer in Shed! A Tap Show directed by Keith Leonhardt that premiered at The Bijou Theater. She is also a dancer and promo model for DFX Entertainment LLC, where she performs at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Cotter is currently attending Naugatuck Valley Community College and is a part of the Dance Degree Program. There she studied and performed a modern dance piece taught by guest teacher, Jamal Jackson. At NVCC she is also a member of the Terpsichorean Dance Club & Ensemble that performs at various events, such as the 5×5 Dance Festivals. In addition to studying and performing dance, Brooke shares her passion and enthusiasm for dance in working with kids as a dance instructor/choreographer around Connecticut.
