Brooke Cotter

Brooke Cotter has studied dance for 23 years and has been teaching and choreographing dance around New England for 9 years. She trained extensively in a broad range of styles such as Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Hip-hop. From the age of six, Miss Brooke competed in numerous regional and national dance competitions throughout New England with Caffery’s Dance and The Dance Corner Company. At the young age of 13, she started choreographing her tap dance solos, receiving many titles and awards such as “Outstanding Choreography and Technique”.

She attended Naugatuck Valley Community College and earned her degree in Visual and Performing Arts, with a focus in Dance. In addition to college studies, Brooke had the opportunity to live in New York and further her skills at NYC Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Dance Masters and CT Tap intensives. She studied from Heather Rigg, Lane Napper, Tony Guerrero, Dianne Walker, and Ray Hesselink. As a dancer, she has been honored to perform at NYC’s Big Apple Tap Dance Festival, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mohegan Sun Casino, The 5×5 Dance Festival, and was on the NLL Black Wolves Cheerleading Team.

In addition to teaching dance, Brooke works as a dental assistant. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her rescue dog, Ricky. Miss Brooke is so excited to be back and share her love and enthusiasm for dance with the students at The Dance Corner!
